Best time for a visit is in the late afternoon/early evening, otherwise the sun will dry you out. Take plenty of water with you (there's a fountain with cold spring water right at the entrance)!!

If you want to rest and inhale the view, there are a few cafes serving fresh juice, water, ice cream and beer along the route. Many photo ops!

Try to avoid walking around the walls in the middle of the day as it gets very hot with little or no shade. Lovely view across the roofs of the old town and Lokrum island from Minčeta Tower

Should get the Dubrovnik day (24hrs) ticket for 170 Kn which will include entrance to the walls. Make sure to wear sturdy shoes as there are many steps and the stones can make it slippery.
